Cochrane woman killed in crash northwest of Calgary

Police are investigating a crash where a woman was killed after losing control and driving into a ditch.

RCMP were called to the scene around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday

Police are investigating a car crash where a woman was killedafter losing control and driving into a ditch.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, RCMP from Cochranewere called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision northwestof Calgary on LochendRoad, north of Township Road 262.

Mounties say a 66-year-old woman from Cochrane was killed in the crash. The driver was headed southbound on LochendRoad when shelost control of the vehicle and drove into a ditch, comingto a stop against a tree and fence.

The woman was the only occupant of the vehicle, police say.Her name will not be released.
