Irene Carter's daughter charged with murder of Lethbridge senior

The daughter of a Lethbridge senior is facing a second-degree murder charge in her death.

LisaFreihaut is facing a charge of second-degree murder in the death of hermotherIrene Carter, Lethbridge police said in a release Friday evening.

It was just two weeks ago thatFreihaut, of Calgary, was making a public plea for information in the case.

"We are reaching out to the public for help. If you have any information about what happened to my mom please contact the LethbridgePolice Services so they can put my mom to rest peacefully, and we can start to heal,"Freihaut said April 7.

Lethbridge police found78-year-old Carter dead in her home after beingcalled to the 300 block ofNormandy Road South on Jan. 17.

An autopsy determined she died of multiple stab wounds.

Police believe Freihaut and Carter were arguing over finances when a physical altercationresulted in Carter's death.

Earlier this weekpolice said there were looking to speak with an Airdrie woman of interest in the case.
