Injured man dies after being found on road in southeast Calgary

Police are investigating after a man was found in medical distress on a road in southeast Calgary and later died in hospital.

Police are investigating after a man was found in medical distress on a road in southeast Calgary and later died in hospital.

Emergency crews were called to the 1700 block of 35th Street S.E. in Southview at about 5:10 a.m. on Wednesday.

EMS took the man to hospital, where he later died.

Police remain at the scene as they try to determine how the man came to be on the road, and what led to his death.

No further details have been released.

Police said 35th Street from 17th Avenue to 19th Avenue will be closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
