2 roadside workers hit by vehicle on Deerfoot Trail

Northbound Deerfoot Trail was shut down Saturday afternoon after a multi-vehicle collision.

Both are in stable condition

Northbound Deerfoot Trail has reopened, after it was shut down Saturday afternoon when two roadside employees were hit by a vehicle.

Calgary police said all northbound lanes at 17th Avenue S.E. were closed to allow police and EMS to respond around 1:10 p.m. The road was reopened around 2:30 p.m.

Two Carmacks employees that were working by the side of the road were hit by a driver, police said.

Both are in stable condition.

Police said two vehicles are being removed from the road and the incident is currently under investigation.
