Family of missing man makes plea for answers

Calgary police are now focusing on an area west of Beiseker, Alta., in the search for a man missing since February.

80 officers to scour area south of Highway 72 near Beiseker, Alta., as part of homicide investigation

The parents of a man missing since February made a tearful plea for answers as police prepare to search another area near Beiseker, Alta.,for his whereabouts.

Bruce Lane and Lorraine Jackson appeared at a Calgarypolice news conference Friday, asking people to check their property for any signs of their son, Ryan Lane.

"I miss Ryan," Jackson said. "I wish he would come home. If he's come to any harm, I hope we can at least find his body and bring him home to us."

Lane, 24, waslast seenin the early hours of Feb. 7 in the 5200 block of Country Hills Boulevard N.W.

"He has a heart of gold, and everyone who knows him would tell you that he has helped them through a rough patch, a broken heart, a bout of loneliness," Jackson said about her son.

"Can you see now why we are suffering so much? How can anyone take him from us? How can they hurt him? Why? Please let the police know if you have any clue as to where he is."

The search continues

Investigators said they are now focusing on an area west of Beiseker.

On Sunday, about 80 officers will scour an area south of Highway 72 between Range Road 263 and Range Road 265 as part of the homicide investigation.

Police say they are focusing on the area because its a possible last-known location for Lane.

Investigators have identified suspects they believe are involved in his disappearance but those people have been unco-operative, police said.

Lane is five feet nine inches tall and weighs 150 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. He has tattoo on his right upper arm.
