Manslaughter charge laid after fatal collision near Red Deer

A Delburne man has been charged with manslaughter after a fatal vehicle collision near Red Deer last month, police say.

Police say a 45-year-old Delburne man caused a collision that left a 32-year-old dead last month

The 45-year-old man is scheduled to appear in a Red Deer court on Oct. 14.

A Delburne man has been charged with manslaughter after a fatal vehicle collision near Red Deer last month, RCMPsaid in a news release Friday night.

Police say a 32-year-old man driving a Dodge Dakota became stuck on a rural property late in the evening on Aug. 14.

He allegedly stole a Ford F-150 from the property and was chased by another man until the two vehicles collided near Highway 42 and Range Road 240, southwest of Delburne.

The 32-year-old was transported by STARS Air Ambulanceto a Calgary hospital,where he died from his injuries.

After an investigation, police have charged a 45-year-old man with manslaughter.Heis scheduled to appear in a Red Deer court on Oct. 14.

He was released from custody with conditions.
