FOB vs FK gang war: another plea deal made with gangster

For the second time in a week, a member of one of Calgary's most notorious gangs has made a plea deal with prosecutors, admitting his role in the Bolsa Restaurant triple murder as well as another killing.

Sentence will be determined at a later date

For the second time in a week, a member of one of Calgary's most notorious gangs has made a plea deal with prosecutors, admitting his role in the Bolsa Restaurant triple murder.

Dustin Darby was originally charged with two counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, accessory after the fact and participation in a criminal organization.

Today, the FOB gang member pleaded guilty toaccessory after the fact for his role in the Bolsa murders and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the plan to kill Kevin Bontogon.

Bontogon was the intended target of an August 2008 shooting that left Kevin Anaya dead on a friend's front lawn. Both men had ties to the FOB's rival gang, the FK.

On Monday, RealHonorio, who was originally charged with three counts of first-degree murder,pleaded guiltyto one charge of second-degree murder for killing innocent bystanderKeniSu'a,who ran from theBolsaRestaurant when gunfire erupted.

Thirteen years ago, members of two Calgary gangsbegan a bloody feud that'skept police and prosecutors busyto this day.

Between 2002 and 2009, at least 25 deaths were connected to the gang war in Calgary between the FOB (Fresh Off the Boat or Forever Our Brothers) and FK (FOB Killers) gangs.

A five-yearmajor police operation called Desinoensued and resultedin 21 charges against five gang members in connection with the deaths of six people.

Police were able to make plea deals with two other FOB members, in exchange for their testimony.

Michael Roberto was granted a partial-immunity dealfor his role in several murders. He was given a 16-year sentence.

AB who can't be named because of a publication ban was granted full immunity despite killing three people during the gang war.

Other pleas

In March,Nathan Zuccherato andThoai Van Luc made arrangements with Crown prosecutorstosettle the charges against them.

Zuccherato pleaded guilty to two of the six first-degree murder charges he faced, as wellas one count of second-degree murder.

Those charges are in connection with the Bolsa killings andthe Food in the East restaurantshootingin 2008 that killednursing student Tina Kong and her boyfriend Kevin Ses.

Luc pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter for his role in the deaths of Kong and Ses.
