Garbage truck strikes Plus-15 in downtown Calgary

A garbage truck struck a Plus-15 in downtown Calgary, causing damagebut few delayson Wednesday morning.

A garbage truck struck a Plus-15 in downtown Calgary, causing damagebut few delayson Wednesday morning.

Police say the driver of the truck left its forks up and scraped the underside ofa section of the pedestrian walkway on Sixth Avenue between First and Second Street S.W. at about 6:15 a.m.

The damage was not significant and the roadway remained open, but the Plus-15 was closed to foot traffic.

Police said at about 7:50 a.m., they were waiting for final approval from a city engineer before cleaning up the scene.
