Girl in life-threatening condition after tree falls on her

A school-aged girl is in life-threateningcondition after a tree fell on her approximately 70 kilometresnorthwest of Calgary.

Emergency services got the calljust before 11:45 a.m. Monday and found the girl with some adults at Highway 40 and Pears Road, just west ofWaiparous, said spokespersonAdamLoria.

The girl was assessed and stabilized on sceneand was laterflown toAlberta Children's Hospital by STARS.

She is in critical condition.

It is not known how old she is, where she was when the tree fell on her, what happened that caused the tree to fall on her, or whether the accompanying adults were her parents.
