Coun. Jim Stevenson says it's unlikely he will seek re-election in next fall's municipal election.

Stevenson has represented Ward 3 in northeast Calgary since 2007.

He has technically registered as a candidate for the 2017vote, butsays he hasn't done any fundraising and doesn't plan to at least not for the time being.

If he changeshis mind, he said he'd be able to raise fundsquickly and mount a campaign, but that's not his intention right now.

Stevenson saidhe's eyeing other opportunities once he completes his term next October, but he wouldn't elaborate on what those are.
