A 22-year-old southern Alberta woman has been sent to prison for a string of crimes that included vehicle thefts, a police chase, drugs and fraudulent identification.

Alyssa Chantel Krushel pleaded guilty to stealing two vehicles left running outside Lethbridge businesses in November.

Police located one of the vehicles and tried to pull Krushel over, but she sped up to 70 km/h in a residential neighbourhood, so the officer ended the pursuit.

A few days later, police found Krushel and pulled in behind her car, but when an officer approached, she reversed and struck him with the side mirror before she drove over the sidewalk.

She drove into the path of another cruiser, which hit her car, before she caused a three-vehicle collision, although no one was seriously injured.

A search of the vehicle which had also been stolen turned up drugs, numerous pieces of identification in other people's names and items stolen from a salon.
