Missing hiker found dead in K-Country after helicopter search

The body of a missing 25-year-old man has beenfoundin Kananaskis Country, RCMP say.

Family members of Zachary Coatesconfirmed to CBC News his body was found Monday afternoon.

RCMP say officers received a missing hiker reportjust before 10 a.m. Monday.

Shortly afterward, police found Coates's vehicle. AKananaskis Emergency Services helicopter was used to locate his body, found on the western slope of Mount Smuts.

Investigators say his death does not appear suspicious,andit appears Coateswas hiking alone when he fell Sunday afternoon.
