Monterey Park shooting that killed Hussein Merhi has police searching for dark SUV

Calgary police are looking to the public for help in identifying a dark SUV they believe was involved in the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Hussein Merhi in the northeast community of Monterey Park.

"Detectives believe the vehicle is possibly a2000 to2006 Ford Escape or similar type SUV," said police in a release.

Investigators believe the Calgary resident met up with at least one other person in an alley in the 100 block of Del Ray Road N.E.around 2:30 p.m. last Sunday

Police say an altercation ensued and Merhi was shot.He died at the scene.

"There is no indication this homicide is linked to any others in the city," said police.
