Motorcyclist killed in collision with deer near Cochrane

One man is dead after his motorcycle struck a deer on Lochend Road, just off highway 1A between Calgary and Cochrane on Thursday night.

2nd rider avoids crash but loses control of motorcycle and suffers minor injuries

One man is deadafter his motorcycle struck a deer on Lochend Road, just off highway1A between Calgary and Cochrane on Thursday night.

When paramedics arrived at the scene around10 p.m. they found two damaged motorcycles one belonging to the 67-year-old man who died, the second to a 33-year-old manwho avoided the collisionbut lost control of his motorcycle.

That rider was sent by ambulance to Foothills hospitalwith minor injuries.

Officials say the motorcyclists were travelling together,one behind the other,when the collision happened.
