Driver death in northwest wasn't criminal, investigators say

Calgary police say a man's death Saturday night in the northwest is no longer being investigated as a homicide following an autopsy.

Police began investigation following what was described as a "near-collision" on Saturday night

Police say a man's death Saturday night in northwest Calgaryis no longer being investigated as a homicide following an autopsy.

Officers initially investigated what wasdescribed as altercation between two drivers. It followedwhat police called a"near collision" in the 200 block of 12th Avenue N.W.

One man was transported to hospital with minor injuries, police said. A second man was located in the 1500 block of 22A Street N.W. near a vehicle around four kilometres from where the original near collision happened and was declared dead at the scene.

At the time,the homicide unit hadbeen called out to investigate. A further update from police is expected Tuesday.

Because the death has been determined to be non-criminal, police are not releasing thedeceased's name.
