Okotoks RCMP patrol car rammed by stolen vehicle

OkotoksRCMP are asking for help from the public as they investigate the ramming of a patrol car by a stolen SUV early Tuesday.

Okotoks RCMP responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle in the Safeway parking lot between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. (Google Maps)

OkotoksRCMP are asking for help from the public as they investigate the ramming of a patrol car by a stolen SUV.

Between 8a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday,RCMP officers were dispatched to the Safeway parking lot on Big Rock Lane to investigate a suspicious vehicle.

As an officer approached the suspect vehicle on foot, the driver rammed the passenger side of the patrol car.The suspect vehicle fled the scene northbound on Northridge Drive, according to an RCMP press release.

No one sustained injuries during the incident.

The vehicle in question was reportedto be a black Land Rover with an Alberta licence plate,DFA 325. RCMP confirmed the vehicle wasstolen.

OkotoksRCMP request public assistance with any dashcam video that may have captured the incident.
