Police are investigating a collision that sent a woman to hospital with serious injuries over the lunch hour.

Police are investigating a collision that sent a woman to hospital with serious injuries over the lunch hour.

Shortly after noon, officers responded to Blackfoot Trail near 46th Avenue S.E. for reports thataflat-deck semi-trailerhad struck a pedestrian.

Thedriver of the truck, which has a red cab with a white stripe on the side, initiallyleft the scene, said Const.Hung Pham, butreturned a short time later and is cooperating with police.

EMS transported a woman to Foothills hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

The police traffic unit continues to investigate.
