Pineridge man charged with murder months after suggesting girlfriend killed herself

A 32-year-old Calgary man who told police his girlfriend's death was a suicide has now been charged with second-degree murder.

Investigators had been told the woman's death appeared to be a suicide when her body was discovered in March

A 32-year-old Calgary man who told policehis girlfriend's death was a suicidehas now been charged withsecond-degreemurder.

The 31-year-old'sbody was discovered in aPineridge home on March 28 in northeast Calgary.

Police say recent developments determined the victim was murdered.

There was no reported history of domestic violence, according to police.

The man was arrested in Coaldale, Alta. Wednesday and is scheduled to appear in a Calgarycourtroom on Friday.
