Motorcyclist dead after collision in Calgary's southeast

A motorcyclist has died after a collision with a red SUV at Peigan Trail and 36thStreet S.E., on Monday night.

Shortly before 9 p.m., police say they received a call about the motor vehicle collision.

The intersection was closed in both directions as the traffic unit investigated.

EMS says the deceased was a manin his 50s. Hisname hasnot been released.

Police confirmed they have a male in custody and that alcohol was a possible factor. However nocharges havebeen laid.
