An investigation has found no Calgary police wrongdoing in a crash that killed two men who were fleeing froman officer.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) investigation's conclusions were released Thursday afternoon.

ASIRT said no charges would be laid against the officer.

Byron Gray, 29, and his nephew, Ryan Gray, 18, were killed early in the morning on June 9.

Their Jeep crashed into a northeast Calgary bungalow and burst into flames, also causing minor injuries to an occupant of the home.

Minutes earlier, Const. Jens Lind had tried to pull the SUV over but it sped away, authorities said at the time. ASIRT said he pursued the vehicle at moderate speed.

ASIRT's investigation found that the Jeep had been stolen and that at the time of impact, the vehicle was travelling at 155 km/h in a 50-km/h zone.

The driver of the vehicle was found to have a blood alcohol level double the legal limit and had also consumed cocaine and marijuana, according to an ASIRT news release.

ASIRT executive director Cliff Purvis reviewed the file and concluded the police officer acted lawfully.
