Calgary police say they have charged three suspects in a fatal shooting in the city's southeast on Tuesday that left one man dead.

Calgary residents Joseph Chlala, 19, and Troy Lemke, 35, along with a 15-year-old male from Ottawa, have all been charged with first-degree murder. The 15-year-old male cannot be named under theYouth Criminal Justice Act.

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Edmonton resident Christian Navos.

The shooting took place at about3:50 p.m. in a park near the intersection of Legacy Parade and Legacy Lane S.E. Police were dispatched after local residents reported a person in a vehicle had been shot.

Police responded to the scene and were able to track and quickly apprehend the suspects using the police HAWCS helicopter, which was already in the air at the time.

"We believe this was a pre-planned meet between these individuals, the victims and the suspects, and obviously the result was extremely tragic and very dangerous to anyone who lived in that community,"said homicide unit Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta.

"These events are occuring in our streets, in our playgrounds, in our parkadesit's going to take a community to solve this."

Police said they believe the incident was targeted and was connected to a dispute involving drugs.

Calgary police officers set up yellow tape around a crime scene.
