RCMP say there was 'no malicious intent' after two men approach Red Deer students

RCMP say they there was nowas no criminal or malicious intent in an incident wheretwo men approached students during recess at a school in Red Deer, Alta.

RCMP say that through further investigation they have deemedtherewas no criminal or malicious intent in an incident wheretwo men approached students during recess at a school in Red Deer, Alta.

On Friday at about 10 a.m., a truck with two men in it approached students on the playground at a Red Deer school, Alberta RCMP said in a news release.

One man, the truck's passenger, got out of the truck and asked children if they had seen his Chihuahuas, and if they wanted to get into the vehicle, RCMPhad said.

RCMP saidthat when the children refused, the man got back into the truck. The driver drove to the corner of Douglas Avenue and Dustin Street, turned and drove past the playground again.

RCMP say they commend the children for responding appropriately to strangersand reporting the incident to school authorities.

They are no longer investigating.
