Thousands of Catholic students in Calgary are back to the books today, although public school students return Tuesday.

Thousands of Catholic students in Calgary are back to the books today.

Sept. 1 is the first day of classes for children in the Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD).

Students whose school fallunder Calgary Board of Education get a few more days off they go back on Sept. 6.

The board says two of its four new schools will havedelayed openings.Our Lady of Grace, a Kindergartento Grade 9 school in Evanston,will now open on Sept.6.

And in Auburn Bay, construction of thePrince ofPeace Kindergartento Grade9 school was delayed by the wet summer weatherand will open later this fall.

The CCSD has more than 54,000 students in 105 schools in Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere and Rocky View County.
