Sit-in at PM's Calgary office over

A sit-in at Prime Minister Stephen Harper's constituency office in Calgary has ended peacefully.

About 20 people filled the hallway and waiting area outside Harper's office on Wednesday, calling on him to get tough on greenhouse gas emissions.

The sit-in took place as world leaders, including Harper and Environment Minister Jim Prentice, were preparing forthis week'sUnited Nations climate summit in Copenhagen.

Wednesday's sit-in started at about 10 a.m. and ended at 2:30 p.m. when those involved decided to go home. No one was arrested.

"Most of us, along with Canada and the rest of the world, are not impressed by what is happening in Copenhagen, especially with Canada's stance and that's what brings us down here," said Joel Woodhouse.

The protesters called on Harperto commit to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2020 to 25 per cent of 1990 levels, or resign.

Some of the same people involved in the Wednesday event also held a sit-in at Prentice's constituency office in Calgary on Nov. 23. Seven people were arrested and charged with criminal mischief.
