Charges are pending after a man led police from Airdrie to Cochrane to Canmore in a stolen cube van and then in a Jeep that he car-jacked along the way.

The Cochrane detachment was notified Tuesday morning at about 11 a.m. that an erratic driver in a stolen cube van was heading their way from Airdrie.

Officers located the vehicle in Cochrane, but the driver took off down Highway 22, where he collided with two vehicles, police say.

The suspect then pulled the driver in the second collision out of his Jeep Wrangler and then took off in that vehicle.

He was later seen traveling west on Highway 1, driving into oncoming traffic.

The suspect was finally arrested in Canmore after hitting a police car.

No one was injured in any of the collisions.

RCMP say more details will be released once charged have been laid.
