RCMP investigate suspicious death after man found dead near Springbank Airport

RCMP are investigating a suspicious death after a man's body was foundon a road near Springbank Airport on Sunday morning.

Police responded to a report that a body had been found off a rural road in the areaat 8:30 a.m.

The death was deemed suspicious and the forensic identification unit remained on scene investigating as of Sunday mid-afternoon, police said in an emailed release.

Police haveblocked off a portion of Range Road 40 north ofTownship Road 250, about a few kilometres west of the airport and the under-development community of Harmony.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Police are working to confirm the man's identity, and will provide an update following the autopsy.

Springbank Airport is located on the northwest outskirts of Calgary.
