Woman badly bitten by escaped pit bull in northeast Calgary

A woman was taken to Peter Lougheed hospital on Wednesday morning after she was attacked by a dog in northeast Calgary.

A woman was taken to Peter Lougheed hospital on Wednesday morning after she was attacked by a dog in Calgary'snortheast.

Emergency crews were dispatched to a residence in Abbeydale at about8 a.m., an EMS official said.

The 32-year-old woman was walking along a back alley when the dog escaped from its yard and attacked, biting her numerous times.

She was taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.

The 11-month-old pit bullwas seized by the city's community standards officers, who are investigating the incident.
