Edmonton member of Hells Angels arrested on drug charges

A member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang has been arrested on drug charges following a months-long investigation.

A member of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang has been arrested on drug charges following a months-long ALERT investigation.

The gang member was arrested Feb. 10 at a southeast Edmonton home. Police seizednearly two kilograms of cocaine and other evidence related to drug trafficking.

The 35-year-old, a full-patch member of the Edmonton-based Westridge chapter of the Hells Angels, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, drug possession and breach of recognizance.

The investigation, which began in August, concluded on Feb. 10 with searches at two homes in Edmonton and one in Sherwood Park.

Along with the drugs, theAlberta Law Enforcement Response Team alsoseized more than $100,000 in cash.

The same gang member was one of six Hells Angelsarrested on organized crime charges in April 2014, police say.

He wasscheduledto appear in court earlier today.
