Greff, 28, was killed on Oct. 29 in a suicide car bombing near Kabul, Afghanistan. Greff served with the Edmonton-based 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. He was married and had two young children.

The vigil will start at 7 p.m. in the Lest We Forget Park in Lacombe Memorial Gardens. Mayor Steve Christie and Greff's former hockey coach, Julian Veuger, will speak.

Everyone who attends will be given a candle. A book of condolence will be available for people to sign.

A public memorial service for Greff will take place 1 p.m. Monday at the Canadian University College in Lacombe. He will be laid to rest at a private family interment earlier in the day.
