Michael Oshry to depart city council after one term

Michael Oshry is Edmonton's third city councillor this year to announce he is not running again.

Oshry joins Bryan Anderson and Ed Gibbons in leaving council this fall

Michael Oshryis the city's third councillor toannounce he is not running again for city council.

"I am not seeking re-election for Ward 5," Oshry said in a tweetWednesday."It has been my pleasure to serve the citizens of the ward and the City of Edmonton."

Oshry, who represents Ward 5 in the city's west end,told CBChe simply made a decision that he wasn't interested in running again.

While no issue stands out for him as a highlight during his term,Oshry said he felt he brought an interesting perspective to council on a many issues.

Edmontonians go to the polls on Monday, Oct. 16.
