Friends and volunteers are helping put up posters at stores and businesses along the route Lyle and Marie Ann McCann were believed to be driving last month on their way from their home in suburban Edmonton to the Vancouver area.

"Even if [people] think it's something small, it might trigger some memory, " said the couple's granddaughter, Nicole Walsh. "It's important that we have the tip come in so we can hopefully find grandpa and grandma sooner."

Lyle, 78, and Marie Ann, 77, were last seen getting gas on July 3, shortly after they left their St. Albert home.

The McCanns' motorhome was later found burned to a shell at a campground near Edson, and their Hyundai Tucson SUV, which they had been towing behind the motorhome, was found west of Edmonton.

"The waiting for my mom and dad to walk through the door is becoming interminably difficult," says their daughter, Trudy Holder.

Two weeks ago, the RCMP arrested Travis Vader, a man they call a person of interest. Vader is in custody.

Police also arrested a second man who was released without charges.
