RCMP ask for help again in finding woman missing since November

RCMP are repeating arequest for the public's help in finding a woman who was reported missing by her family Nov. 17.

Gloria Gladue, 44, was last seen in Desmarais, Alta., on Oct. 9, 2015.

Her eldest daughter, Nicole Gladue-Weesemat, said she hasn't heard from her mothersince Oct. 9, when she said her mother was last seen picking up a prescription from a pharmacy.

"She just texted the normal, 'I love you, I miss you,'" Gladue-Weesemat said. " I didn't respond right away and I think I did the next day, nothing. As time went on, we just knew something was up."

Gladue-Weesemat said her mother struggled with addiction and hitchhiked, but said it's unusual for her mother not to be in contact with her seven children.

"She was outgoing, funny, a good grandma," she said. "But she had her downfalls with her addiction, her hitchhiking;you just never know where she could be or who she could have run into. But she always kept in contact. She always kept her word."

Gladue is described by RCMP as an Aboriginal woman with dark brown hair and brown eyes. She's five-foot-seven and weighsapproximately 133 pounds.

Cpl. Kevin Peterson said Gladue was last seen alone but said she spends a lot of her time in Edmonton visiting one of her children and her sister.

Peterson said police have received some helpful tips in the past few months, but reissued their request for public help since they haven't received any tips lately.

"We need more information on where she might be or who she might be with," Peterson said.

"The family is very concerned. We very much want to help the family, find out where she is and get any information that helps us with finding out her whereabouts."

Gladue-Weesemat said she has been in weekly contact with the RCMP, whom she said havebeen very helpful.

Still, this Christmas was hard without her mother, she said, and she would like her mother to contact the family to let them know she's OK.

"We just want to know if you're OKand safe," she said. "We love you, we miss you and we're all worried. Every day we're praying, every day we're thinking of you.

"If anyone knows anything, please say something. This is nothing any family should have to go through. It's horrible. I just want to know if my mom is found and safe and OK."

RCMP are asking anyone with information about Gladue's whereabouts to contact them.
