RCMP made public Friday photos from in and around the Quonset hut where four officers were shot and killed by James Roszko on March 3, 2005, in Mayerthorpe, Alta.

The four photos were released by police Friday after Shawn Hennessey and Dennis Cheeseman were sentenced for their roles in the slayings.

Hennessey, 29 and Cheeseman, 25, were sentenced to, respectively,15 and 12 years in prison.

One of the newly released photos shows a window on a police vehicle that was shattered when Roszko fired at RCMP Cpl. Stephen Vigor.

According to court documents released last week, Vigor was able to shoot Roszko twice, in the hand and in the thigh, before Roszko stumbled back into the hut.

Roszko then killed himself.

Another photo shows a pistol and the .300 Remington rifle seized from inside Roszko's hut the day the officers were killed.

When police discovered Roszko's body, they found he had been carrying three weapons:a semi-automatic handgun tucked in the waistband of his pants, a .300 Winchester Magnum rifle lying to his right and a semi-automatic assault rifle lying between his legs.

The other two RCMP photos depict the marijuana grow-op and a dismantled vehicle police say was part of Roszko's illegal auto "chop shop."
