Death of Hamilton man, 46, being investigated as homicide after autopsy: police

Hamilton police say the death of a 46-year-old man over the weekend is now being investigated as a homicide.

Hamilton police say the death of a 46-year-old man over the weekend is now being investigated as a homicide.

In a media release Tuesday, police said paramedics responded to a "medical incident" at 36 Queen St. S., on Saturday,Aug. 3, at roughly 9:30 p.m.

David Fugler, 46, was found unconscious in his room atwhat police spokesperson Const. Indy Bharajdescribed as amulti-unit lodging home.

Fuglerwas taken to hospital, but died early the next morning.

Hamilton police are considering the death a homicide after autopsy results from Monday.Bharaj told CBC Hamiltonhe couldn't share the results.

The service said no arrests have been made, guns weren't involved in the killing and Fugler wasn't previously known to police.

Police said Fugler was"a beloved son, brother, and friend," addingthat hisfamily has been notified of his death.

The service said officers will be near the property, speaking to witnesses and collecting video.
