Arkells- TiCats are Hummin'

The Arkells absolutely nailed the spirit surrounding the TiCats and in turn, summer in Hamilton on TiCats are Hummin', which was released back in 2012.

Carried by a strong backbeat and a classic organ line, Arkells frontman Max Kerman riffs on hot summer nights under the Ivor Wynne lights, Christmas coming on Labour Day and of course, lawn parking in the east end.

This song is about as quintessential a summer tune as Hamilton could ever ask for.

Teenage Head - Teenage Beer Drinking Party

Punk rock forefathers Teenage Head's classic Teenage Beer Drinking Party is all about just thatdrinking beer and getting nuts as kids.

A staple from punk's early archetype, it will no doubt jog hazy memories of summer parties in your youth.

Terra Lightfoot - The Orchard

Terra Lightfoot's The Orchard is a standout track from her 2011 self-titled album. It's also a wistful look at summer love, sung over a sparse electric guitar line and the slow drone of a cello and violin.

The song is both parts about a good ol' roll around in a summer field and indecision about a relationship. Well worth the listen.

Harlan Pepper - Little Miss Sunshine

Harlan Pepper's Dan Edmonds wants one thing during the summer: a little miss sunshine. Without her, summer is just "too damn long."

It's a coy look at summer love from the outside looking in, and a great track from a young band with a lot of promise.
