Hamilton is in store for some cold temperatures this week, starting today. It will feel like -11 C when you leave this morning, but it will feel a lot colder later this afternoon. Here's the traffic, weather and news you need to start your week.

Hamilton is in store for some cold temperatures this week, starting today. It will feel like -11 C when you leave this morning, but it will feel a lot colder later this afternoon. Be sure to grab an extra layer for your commute home!

It's Blue Monday, but don't be so sad. The third Monday in January was coined in 2005 as the most depressing day of the year. How about we all cheer up with some New Order?

And if you're not a fan of New Order, it's also National Cheese Day. Can't go wrong there. Enjoy some cheese today to counter-act the blue.

The OPP is reporting icy conditions on highways this morning. Be careful during your commute.

At 9 a.m.:

On the QEW Toronto-bound at Burlington Street, there is a two-car collision in the right shoulder. No injuries.

In town, James Street off the West 5th access is moving slowly into the lower city. York Blvd. heading towards the 403 is also slow.

At 8:15 a.m.:

The 403 is still slow in the Ancaster and Hamilton area starting at Wilson St. and continuing past York Blvd.

In town, the West 5th access route and the Jolley Cut are both slow moving at 8:15. Might want to consider a different route down into the lower city if you're leaving now.

At 7:30 a.m.:

On the 403 EB at York Blvd., there's still a back-up after a two-car collision about 25 minutes ago. The cars are in the left shoulder and a tow truck is on scene.

Not much traffic in town this hour but John Street, coming off the access route, is starting to look a little slow.

It's -5 C, but feels like -11 C with the wind chill. The temperature will drop to -11 C later this afternoon (that's before the wind chill). These low temps are caused by an arctic air mass moving into Southern Ontario.

A 40 per cent chance of flurries this afternoon as well.

Overnight, the temperature will continue to drop. By Tuesday with the wind chill, it'll feel like -25 C. Brrrr.

The funeral for late city councillor Bernie Morelli will be held this morning. The service takes place at 10:30 a.m. St Patricks Catholic Church at 440 King St. E in Hamilton.

Morelli died Tuesday night at the end of a long illness. He was Hamilton's second longest serving councillor.

Morelli, who worked for Dofasco for 25 years, was first elected to council in 1991. Before that, he first served as a trustee for Ward 3 for the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board.

We've seen our share of crazy endings to sporting events, but this one is a head-scratcher. A high school game in Prosser, Washington had an ending that apparently even stumped the ref. Watch the ball carefully.
