A Hamilton woman has been arrested after what police say is an internal theft of Fentanyl at St. Joseph's Hospital.

The hospital contacted the police in March regarding an internal theft of painkiller Fentanyl patches, according to police.

Police found that the suspect has accessed the drug dispenser several times and took multiple 270-microgram doses of Fentanyl.

A 38-year-old Hamilton woman was arrested Wednesday. She is facing the charge of theft over $5,000 and has been released on a promise to appear.
