The cost of riding the bus in Hamilton just went up.

September 1 marks a fare increase for the HSR.

The price tag for adults has jumped from $3 to $3.25, while adult paper tickets or Presto have gone from $2.40 to $2.50.

Meanwhile, monthly passes for kids, adults and seniors have risen to $90.20, $110 and $32.50 respectively.

The public transit provider says HSR customers can continue using their current 2018-2019 tickets with an expiry date of August 31, 2019 which will remain valid until the end of September, as long as anadditional 10 cents per tickets for adults and five cents per ticket for students is paid into the farebox.
