Pellet gun, knife and cocaine seized after road rage incident: police

A pellet gun, knife and cocaine were seized, police say, after what appeared to be a handgun was pointed at a driver during a road rage incident.

Police say they responded to reports of a weapon being pointed at a driver on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway during a "driving dispute" around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

No one was injured and the suspect drove away, according to investigators.

A suspect vehicle was located near Upper Wentworth Street and Fennell Avenue East on September 18. The driver resisted arrest, police say, but he was taken into custody.

Police searched the vehicle on Friday and say they found a Daisy Powerline 340 pellet gun, a knife, cash and 6.52 grams of cocaine.

A 24-year-old Hamilton man is charged with the following:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
  • Assault with a weapon.
  • Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
  • Assaulting a peace officer.
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon.
  • Possession of cocainefor the purpose of trafficking.
