3 new school-related COVID-19 cases in Hamilton

There are three new COVID-19 cases in Hamilton schools, including two in the public school board.

A student at Highview Elementary School and a student at Dundas Valley Secondary School are infected

There are three new COVID-19 cases in Hamilton schools, including two students in the public school board.

The student at Highview Elementary School was last in the building on Monday and received their positive test result on Thursday.

"The students and staff members associated with this case, including those in the before- and after-school program, have been notified and will self-isolate, pending further direction," read a letter from principalJamie McLean.

It is the school's second COVID-19 case.

Meanwhile, an infected student atDundas Valley Secondary School was last in the building on Tuesday and also received their positive test result on Thursday.

"As a precautionary measure, the class of students and staff associated with this case have been notified," read a letter from principalGail Cipriani.

The third new COVID-19 case in a Hamilton school is atcole secondaire Acadmie catholique Mre-Teresa.

Someone tested positive and caused two classrooms to close. The school is still running, but it's unclear if the infected person was a student or staff member and when they were last in the building.
