Kamloops clinic manager wants more care options in B.C.

The manager of a Kamloops walk-in clinic says we need to look at more options to relieve the doctor shortage in the city. One solution is getting more students in to medical school. Another is building more opportunities for nurse practitioners to work in the city.

Patti Aldrich knows first-hand what it's like to not have enough doctors.

She's the clinic manager for a busy walk-in clinic on the north shore of Kamloops.

Every day, she has to come to work and see those line ups of people hoping to get an appointment with a doctor.

Daybreak's Jenifer Norwell met up with her at the NorKam Health Care Centre to hear what she thinks needs to be done to reduce the some of the pressures on the medical system.
