The trio was chosen "based on a combination of strong artistic skills and creative ideas for capturing neighbourhood themes," a releasefrom the City of Kitchener said.

Colourful 'hoods

Each artist had to pitch an idea about what their colouring pages would depict.Brennan suggested an image that incorporated little libraries, cob ovens and yarn-bombing.

Mossel-Forrestersketched an event featuring a lantern walk and hot apple cider on a winternight.

Zenker's design was a residential streetfull of life on the sidewalk, front yards and front porches.

The colouring books are meant toraise awareness of Kitchener's plans to create a neighbourhood strategy, which will entice residents to connect, engage and do good things in their area of the city.

It should "encourage creative thinking about what makes our neighbourhoods great and how we can work together to make them better," the release stated.
