Kathryn McGarry wins Cambridge mayoral race

Cambridge will have a new mayor as Kathryn McGarry won the mayoral race with 47 per cent of votes.

With allpolls reporting, Kathryn McGarryhas won the Cambridge mayoral race.

McGarryhad13,404votes., while incumbent Doug Craigfollowed with 7,394votes. Ben Tuccihad4,902 votes, Colin Tucker had1,553, andRandy Carter had 836 votes.

The results of the municipal election in Cambridge weredelayed until 10:30 p.m.

Polling station hours were extended to 10p.m. because of problems with the online voting system.

On the referendum question asking voters if they want ranked ballots for the 2022 municipal election, 13,488said yes with 10,449voting no.

Cambridge's voter turn out was at 33 per cent for the 2018 municipal election, collecting about 28,292 ballots.

All the members of council were seeking re-election.

Ward results

Ward 1: Incumbent Donna Reidwonwith 1,040 votes, followed by Clifford Vancliefwith 580.

Ward 2: Incumbent Mike Devine won with 2,404votes, followed by Janice Lajeunesse with 555votes.

Ward 3: Incumbent Mike Mann won with 1,639votes, followed by Tracy Hipel with 1,198 votes.

Ward 4: Incumbent Jan Liggettwon with 1,685,votes, followed by Gary Price with 990votes.

Ward 5: Incumbent Pam Wolf won with 2,285 votes, followed by Bill Kirby with 1,129votes.

Ward 6: Incumbent Shannon Adshade won with 1,516votes, followed by Sandy Falkiner with 826.

Ward 7:Incumbent Frank Monteiro won with 1,016 votes, followed by Connie Cody with 685votes.

Ward 8: Incumbent Nicholas Ermeta won with 2,413votes followed by Carla Johnson with 1,102votes.
