Guelph riding: Liberal Lloyd Longfield elected

Liberal candidate Lloyd Longfieldhas been elected in Guelphwith over 77 per cent of polls reporting.

Longfieldwon with48.9per cent of the popular vote, while Conservative candidate Gloria Kovach had26.7per cent of the vote and NDP Andrew Seagram had11.8per cent. Green candidate Gord Miller was close behind Seagram, with 11.4 per cent of the popular vote.

Guelph was redefined in 2012, when it gained territory from Wellington-Halton Hills. Since 2008, the riding had been represented by Liberal party member Frank Valeriote, who decided not to run in the 2015 federal election.
