CBC KW's annual Sounds of the Season event is fast approaching and now, the website that allows you to make your online financial donation is up.

For every $1 raised, the Food Bank of Waterloo Region can provide food for three meals, the food bank's executive director Wendi Campbell said.

"Sounds of the Season is such an important event at a time of year that is crucial to the needs of the food bank and ultimately to the needs of the community," Campbell said.

During the holidays, the food bank needs to raise food and money for 925,000 meals.

"The food is being used by our network of more than 100 community shelters, outreach workers, food hamper and meal programs, and the support of Sounds of the Season and the support of the community goes a long way to helping us reach that goal," Campbell said.
