Catherine Fife, Laura Mae Lindo named critics for provincial NDP

Waterloo MPP Catherine Fife and Kitchener Centre MPP Laura Mae Lindo have been given critic roles with the NDP, which is the official Opposition party at Queen's Park.

Four Waterloo region MPPs hold critic or parliamentary assistant roles

Kitchener Centre MPP Laura Mae Lindo and Waterloo MPP Catherine Fife have been named critics for the provincial NDP. (CBC)

The two NDP MPPs in Waterloo region have both received critic roles within their party.

Catherine Fife, MPP for Waterloo, will serve as the critic for jobs, employment, research and innovation.

Kitchener Centre MPP Laura Mae Lindo will have two portfolios as critic for anti-racism as well as citizenship and immigration services.

In announcing the roles, NDP Leader Andrea Horwath said she was excited to work with Fife and Lindo.

"I know they are both passionate and prepared to keep fighting for families and for the services they count on to build a great life," Horwath said.

The NDP are the official Opposition at Queen's Park to the current Conservative government led by Premier Doug Ford.

Kitchener South-Hespeler MPP Amy Fee and Belinda Karahalios are both parliamentary assistants to the minister of children, community, and social services.

Fee focuses on children and autism while Karahalios focuses on community and social services.
