Flair Airlines has put a hold on all flights to Montreal out of the Region of Waterloo International Airport.

A representative from Flair said it is in the process of giving people who booked tickets a full refund.

The spokesperson also indicated that the flight cancellations will apply to "winter service to Montreal, from Kitchener-Waterloo for the time being."

On the Flair Airlines website, tickets to Montreal from the Region of Waterloo International Airport are not available to purchase until March 26th.

Chris Wood, the general manager of the Region of Waterloo International Airport, said the financial damage to the airport is minimal.

"From what I understand, they only had a couple flights a week to Montreal. So that'stwo out of thirty or forty [flights] that they're flying," said Wood.

"I'm not saying it's not an issue. We'd love to have more flights. We're working hard to do that and we'd hope to have some announcements on more flights but sometimes they don't work."

A spokesperson for Flair Airlines said the airline accounts for 86 per cent of the seats sold to passengers flying out of the Region of Waterloo International Airport.
