Death in Erin being treated as homicide, says OPP

Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police are treating the sudden death of a 65-year-old man in Erin as a homicide. And because they can't locate his next-of-kin, police havereleased his name to the public.

OPP say the man was65-year-old Frederick John Hatch,whohadno fixed address.

Police believe Hatch travelled from eastern Ontario on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 arriving in the Erin area later that day or in the early morning hours of December 17, 2015.

Police were called to an area east of the 10th Line just off Wellington Road 124 shortly before 7:00 a.m. on Thursday and found the man's body.

A post-mortem was conducted in Toronto, and police say the cause of death is considered evidence in the case, so it will not be released.

He's described as about fivefeetsix inches tall (167 cm), with a heavier build and a grey moustache that curves downwards and grey shoulder-length hair. He was found wearing a dark hoodie and blue jeans.
