Myo gesture-control band for sale on Amazon

Thalmic Labs' Myo armband, a wearable tech device developed in Waterloo Region that responds to the electrical signals in your arm muscles, is now for sale on Amazon.com for $199 US.

Thalmic Labs' Myoarmband, a wearable tech device that responds to the electrical signals in yourarm muscles, is now for sale on Amazon.com for$199 US.

However, Canadian customers who haven'tpre-orderedaMyowill have to wait a little to get their hands (or arms) in a band - the device is only available on the U.S. Amazon site and only ships within the U.S.

TheMyouses abiosensorwhich picks up electrical impulses from the muscles in a person's lower arm, so users can control computer programs, video games, drones andsmartphones. It iscompatible with bothiOSand Android operating systems.

The Kitchener, Ont.-based company has already shipped Myo bands starting lastJuly to early adopterswho pre-ordered the device.

Customers can order the Myo from Amazon in black or white.
