$50K worth of beef patties stolen in Puslinch Township recovered

Beef patties worth $50,000 stolen from a semi-trailer parked in a yard in the southern Ontario community of Puslinch Township have been recovered, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police in Wellington County say the trailer was parked on Brock Road S., in the township when unknown people forcibly entered the storage yard at 3 a.m. Monday. The people used a tractor within the yard to move the trailer.

Police said the 16 metre long trailer was later found in Mississauga, but the beef patties were gone. Police said an investigation led to the beef patties being "accounted for."

Const. Joshua Cunningham said the story is a reminder to people that if they buy anything not through an official source, that it could have been obtained illegally.

"If you buy something that wasn't sold legally and you're caught with it, you could be charged," he said, noting people would then be in possession of stolen goods.
